Product Information: WARRANTY 5Y Premier Support Plus CPN
To connect your PRIMERGY Blade Server to outside networks and storage, Fujitsu offers a variety of options to support your familiar standards such as Ethernet, Fibre Channel, SAS and InfiniBand.
They connect directly to the high performance midplane and guarantees lossless, highly efficient data transfer to and from the Connection Blades.
In order to optimally meet your needs, Fujitsu provides a wide range of various Mezzanine Cards starting from 1 and 10 Gbit/s Ethernet, 8 and 16 Gbit/s Fibre Channel, 40 and 56 Gbit/s InfiniBand to 6 Gbit/s SAS with RAID functionality.
Even Converged Network Adapters (CNAs) that provide multiple network connections and Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) as well as iSCSI are part of the portfolio.
6 Gbit/s SAS HBA Mezzanine Card
Data transfer from and to server blade external storage media requires high performing I/O controllers on the one hand, and on the other hand the optional concurrent or dedicated use of the provided storage capacity.
The new SAS HBA mezzanine card meet both: operating with up to 6 Gbit/s transfer rate they guarantee high speed transmission of data, while the connection to external SAS storage subsystems via a SAS connection blade offers more than one kind of usage: disk capacity may be assigned exclusively to the server blade, or disk capacity can be used concurrently (sharing) with other server blades, assuming the operating systems supports this.
Operation of external tape storage, also connected via SAS connection blade, will be another appropriate scenario.
